Our Roots
Tyndale Christian School was born from prayer, conviction, and a desire to cultivate a distinctively classical Christian education in Northern Virginia.

At Tyndale, the Christian faith shapes not only our name but our understanding of reality. We affirm the lordship of Jesus Christ over all life and learning and receive education as a gift to be stewarded faithfully.
Our Christian vision is rooted in the historic creeds of the Church and shaped by an orthodox biblical worldview. Faith and learning are not separate; all subjects are taught in light of God’s created order and redemptive purposes.
We welcome families from a variety of Christian traditions who share a commitment to Christ-centered education.

A Classical Approach to Education
Tyndale’s academics are grounded in the classical Christian tradition, which understands education as the formation of wise and virtuous men and women. Rooted in Scripture and drawing from the riches of the Western intellectual tradition, learning is ordered, meaningful, and cumulative, enabling students to grow in knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.
Within this framework, students encounter the great ideas, books, and events that have shaped our civilization. They learn to think carefully, communicate clearly, delight in what is true, good, and beautiful, and cultivate habits of attention, diligence, humility, and wonder.
The classical approach at Tyndale seeks more than academic achievement. It seeks wisdom — the ability to discern truth, exercise virtue, and live faithfully for the glory of God.

Charlotte Mason–Inspired Teaching
Tyndale’s classrooms are enriched by the educational insights of Charlotte Mason, whose emphasis on living ideas, habit formation, and attentive learning in a warm atmosphere complements our classical Christian approach. We believe children are whole persons, created in the image of God and capable of engaging deeply with truth, goodness, and beauty.
Students read rich, enduring books, practice comprehension and narration to strengthen understanding, and regularly learn outdoors through nature study. These practices cultivate wonder, careful observation, and joyful learning while helping students develop the habits that lead to wisdom and lifelong learning.
